Joint Local Government Health and Wellbeing Series
The Joint Local Government Health and Wellbeing Series is an initiative involving a collaboration by a number of neighbouring Councils in the Eastern Melbourne region.
The initiative was a response to COVID-19 and the restrictions on hosting events within council venues for in-person attendance. With no barriers to physical location now for an online presentation, the initiative worked together across seven local government areas to combine resources to continue to deliver an online series addressing health and wellbeing topics that were of interest across all of the municipalities.
The first event was held in June and featured an online presentation with former-AFL footballer Tom Boyd who shared his story of going from #1 draft pick to retirement within five years. The event also coincided with Men's Health Week which focuses on promoting male health facts and male health services.
More online health and wellbeing events are scheduled for 2020.
