Inner East Faith Leaders Unite for Safety and Respect

Unite for Safety and Respect engaged four Inner East Interfaith Networks, which are a forum for different faith communities to come together and promote mutual understanding and respect. In doing so, the project aimed to:

  • Build capacity of faith communities to prevent violence against women;
  • Understand drivers around gender inequity and the important role faith leaders and
    representatives play in building respectful relationships; and
  • Enable a call to action.

The project was led by Monash Council and delivered in partnership with Manningham, Whitehorse and Boroondara Councils, and the Whitehorse Interfaith Network. It was funded by Women’s Health East.
