'You Can't Be What You Can't See' Gender Equity Poster Series for Early Years

The 'You Can't Be What You Can't See' Gender Equity Poster Series for Early Years is designed to promote gender equity through challenging and breaking down gender stereotypes in our youngest members of the community.

The posters will raise awareness of the importance of diverse and inclusive images in promoting gender equality across a range of occupations. The early years learning environment is a key source of information for children about gender roles and expectations, and what is valued in boys and girls. That is why it is important that projects in promoting gender equity start in the early years.

Early years centres across the Yarra Ranges asked for more images in their centres promoting gender equity. With a set of printed posters going to every centre in Yarra Ranges we have started to address this need.
