Young Leaders - Let’s Take Action for Gender Equality and Respect
Young Leaders is a student voice project which engages primary school students in grade 4, 5 and 6, to become gender equality ambassadors within their school community.
The project, run by FVREE and Inspiro, engaged three primary schools within the Yarra Ranges in the program. Students and teachers participated in various workshops exploring:
- respectful relationships
- gender equality, and
- student empowerment.
As part of the program, the students designed and delivered their own project which addressed gender inequality within their school context. A student voice resource guide has been developed as part of this project, which supports this program to be facilitated in other schools.
