Knox Review of Cooking Skills Interventions for Older Adults

This 2018 project conducted by Occupational Therapy Masters Students was based at Knox Council. The students analysed 10 qualitative and quantitative research articles and grey literature about cooking skills interventions targeted at community-dwelling older adults.

Eight recommendations were made. A key recommendation was the need for participatory cooking, nutritional education and social opportunities to be included in program design, and for the intervention to be delivered by a trained facilitator suitable for the group needs. It was also recommended that participants are active in the program design.
