Vision Initiative is an integrated eye health promotion program funded by the Victorian Government and managed by Vision 2020 Australia. Vision Initiative aims to prevent avoidable blindness and address the impact of vision loss in the Victorian community.
Vision Initiative works across Victoria at local and state level to deliver activity to promote the importance of early detection and treatment of eye conditions and regular eye tests to prevent vision loss and blindness. In Australia 90 per cent of blindness and vision loss is preventable or treatable, however this rises to 94 per cent for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
