Cyber Safety Parent Events & Webinars

Cyber Safety Parent Events

In 2019 Inspiro collaborated with The Cyber Safety Project, Eastern Community Legal Centre, Gambler’s Help Each, Chum Creek Primary School and Yarra Ranges Council to host a series of parent events to raise awareness and build capacity of parents to navigate cyber safety. Children had their own class and were up-skilled on online etiquette and safety.

Three events have been held in Belgrave, Healseville and Moroolbark and covered:

  • Cyber Bullying
  • Online Predators and Grooming
  • Gaming
  • Streaming services
  • How to program Parental Controls.

Cyber Safety Parent Webinars

In May 2020 Inspiro partnered with The Cyber Safety Project and Yarra Ranges Council to provide Yarra Ranges Schools with a series of three cyber safety webinars for parents and teachers.

In the current climate where work, play and education are online, there is more exposure to online dangers for young people e.g social media, bullying, personal details and security, online grooming and gaming addiction. This builds the capacity of parents and teachers to keep things safe for themselves and their families in the online space.

The sessions included:

  • Introduction to keeping kids safe online
  • Keeping kids safe on social media
  • Keeping kids safe who game
