Little Chompers - healthAbility

Little Chompers is a dental outreach education program from healthAbility. The program is designed to teach children about healthy food choices and the importance of oral health.

Dental and oral health therapists visit local kindergartens, early childhood centres and schools to provide dental checks for children.

During the visit children learn educational messages about oral health and healthy eating habits including:

  • What to expect from a visit to a dental professional
  • What is tooth decay
  • The correct technique for brushing teeth
  • The importance of regular dental check ups
  • Making healthy food and drink choices.

All dental checks are voluntary and all participating children require parent/guardian consent. All participating children will receive some take home information for parents and a gift pack to reinforce the messages communicated with the children during the visit.
