Smile Squad - healthAbility

The Box Hill Smile Squad team headed back out to local schools in November 2021 after suspending outreach dental services during lockdown. The team were excited to resume visits to schools to provide dental care to primary and secondary students in the region.

Oral Health Therapists in the Smile Squad team are trained to check teeth, provide treatments, and offer preventative care and oral health coaching. Dental Assistants work within the team to perform administrative tasks and prepare students for examinations and treatment.

healthAbility is currently servicing 26 schools in phase one of the Smile Squad program. They have two Smile Squad teams based at Box Hill, and have expanded the program to Eltham.
