North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU)

The North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU) was established in late 2020 and is one of nine local public health units across Victoria. NEPHU is led by Austin Health in collaboration with Eastern Health and Northern Health.

NEPHU works closely with GPs, health services, community organisations and local government in Melbourne’s north east to keep the community safe and informed.

We use our local knowledge and understanding of our communities and suburbs to provide a collaborative approach across health and community partners to:

  • respond to communicable diseases and other public health issues
  • protect the health of the community
  • prevent or minimise disease, illness and injury
  • promote health and wellbeing at the community level.
