Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action
The Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action (EAGA) is a formal collaboration of eight Councils in Melbourne’s east. EAGA was established in 2008 in response to community concerns about climate change and a desire to drive action through a coordinated approach in the eastern region. EAGA is one of a network of regional greenhouse alliances across Victoria.
EAGA works together on regional programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and facilitate regional adaptation. The Alliance consists of the following members:
- City of Boroondara
- Glen Eira City Council
- Knox City Council
- Maroondah City Council
- Monash City Council
- City of Stonnington
- City of Whitehorse
- Yarra Ranges Council.
EAGA is committed to responding to the challenges of climate change through the delivery of programs that aim to:
- Help reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the region.
- Provide support for regional adaptation to climate change impacts.
