The Council on the Ageing (COTA) Australia is the peak policy development, advocacy and representation organisation for older Australians, representing COTAs in every State and Territory and through them over 500,000 older Australians.

COTA's role is to promote, improve and protect the wellbeing of older people in Australia as citizens and consumers.

COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria launched the booklet Challenging Ageism in 2016 which provides an overview of ageism in Australia and ways to address it.
