Outer East Community Food Access Research Project

This project assessed the levels of food security in the region through physical mapping of local food outlets, the application of the Victorian Healthy Food basket survey, community surveys, community consultation and focus groups.

It was the first major piece of research commissioned by the NOURISH Network. The 'Green Bag' report continues to be a go-to resource for the region for local healthy food basket data, key at-risk communities, and the key determinants contributing to food insecurity in the region.

The report identifies recommendations on strategic approaches and community strategies that will aim to improve access to nutritious food for the communities of the Outer East.
