Inner East Social Inclusion Practitioner Working Group

Health Promotion Practitioners from the three community health organisations in the Inner East; Access Health and Community, healthAbility, and Link Health and Community, established a working group around the shared priority area of social inclusion.

The group formed to develop a shared methodology for consultation across four social housing communities:

• Ashburton and Hawthorn East in the City of Boroondara
• The Ashwood/Chadstone area in the City of Monash, and
• Wattle Hill Estate in Burwood in the City of Whitehorse.

This process has been supported by the Inner East Primary Care Partnership.

The working group also identified that digital inclusion was a common issue across all the communities and was selected as an area for shared action. The working group plans to improve digital inclusion for social housing communities by addressing digital access, affordability and/or ability.
