Living A Life Less Cluttered....One step at a time

The Maroondah Hoarding & Squalor Network (MHSN) is a forum of outer eastern Melbourne local governments (Maroondah, Knox and Yarra Ranges), emergency services and agencies who support people experiencing hoarding and/or squalor issues. The Network provides an opportunity to share skills, knowledge and establish collaborative outcomes for community.

The Network partners identified a need for a community resource for people impacted by hoarding to encourage them to reach out for support. It aims to provide a starting point for people to contemplate change, offering practical advice about how to start and offers contact points to seek support.

Amongst stakeholders consulted in the design of this resource were several people with lived-experience, whom were instrumental in guiding helpful and encouraging, appropriate language throughout the booklet. The Network hopes that the resource will become broadly available electronically as well as in hard copy in places community members attend, such as GP clinics and other services.
