Smiles 4 Miles - Children’s House of Early Learning (Boronia)

Children and staff at Children’s House of Early Learning (Boronia) were treated to an incursion from the EACH Oral Health Team during Dental Health Week 2021.

The visit was part of the Smiles 4 Miles program, an initiative of Dental Health Services Victoria, which works to improve the oral health of children, their families, early childhood staff and the wider community. The Smiles 4 Miles program promotes three key messages: Drink Well, Eat Well and Clean Well.

The visit covered the importance of:

  • looking after teeth and gums,
  • eating a healthy diet and
  • brushing teeth twice a day with a low fluoride toothpaste.

The Oral Health Team were delighted to see all the children enjoy learning that it is never too early or too late to start looking after your teeth and gums to keep your smile for life. And the best part, the children had the opportunity to dress up as Dentists and patients and practice brushing the teeth of the friendly Star Smilez Tooth Puppet.
