A Strategy for Equality: Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health in Melbourne’s East 2020 – 2025

A Strategy for Equality: Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health in Melbourne’s East 2020 – 2025 was developed by Women's Health East in consultation with a range of stakeholders including the Eastern Metropolitan Region Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategic Reference Group (SRG).

The SRG comprises representatives from local government, community health organisations and other service providers committed to improving the health and wellbeing of women in the region and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Strategy.

The Strategy and Background Paper identify key Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) priorities and priority populations in the EMR, and sets out a Framework for improving women’s SRH through:

  • enhancing equity
  • increasing access to key services, and
  • improving the capability of the healthcare system to address women’s SRH.
